Wylam is an attractive village of particular interest to railway enthusiasts with George Stephenson's birthplace within 1 mile of Wormald House. The village also has a small but very informative Railway Museum.
There are many pleasant walks along the riverside and we are only 12 miles from the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and within easy reach of Gatesheads' Metrocentre. Both are accessible by train from the village station.
