Description

ROUTE OVERVIEW Start/Finish: Maryport NY 033 364 Distance: 17km (10m) short distance with easy hills Maps: OS Landranger 85 (Carlisle & Solway Firth) and OS Landranger 89 (West Cumbria) This is a wonderful ride for families. There is a short section on the road at the start, which can be avoided if the route is started from the car park on the promenade (drive to route number 2 and continue to the car park). From this point the rest of the route is on mainly traffic free cycle paths, with just two road crossings. There are lots of interesting places to stop but it is worth getting to Allonby just for the ice-cream!
