Cumbria Itineraries
Content here introducing Cumbria itineraries.....
Carlisle & Westward - a fascinating itinerary over two days: one day of city-based history and heritage, and a second day of easy countryside cycling.
East of Carlisle - a morning of Romans and history; an afternoon of mega-slides and energy; an evening of peace for parents, hopefully.
Lanercost Countryside - romantic ruins, mouth watering baked goods, breathtaking scenery. Lanercost Priory and the surrounding area offer up a delightful day out.
Maryport (a wet day alternative) - if it's hoofing down (as it occasionally does in Cumbria) don't despair. The seaside town of Maryport can come to the rescue. Some Roman heritage, some watery friends and then some energy-sapping indoor climbing will make for a great day's (indoor) fun.
Maryport to Allonby - offering an amazing day of family fun. A bit of Roman history, some cycling on Hadrian's Cycleway, and ice cream rewards for all your up and coming Bradley Wiggins'!
Ravenglass - an excellent family outing, complete with a castle, owls, train museum and Roman ruins!
Solway AONB & Firth - not only will you be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Solway shoreline but you will be following the course of the Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail, which starts (or finishes) at Bowness-on-Solway.
