Hadrian's Wall (World Heritage Site) is approximately 4 miles away. Day trip destinations could include the cathedral cities of Durham and Carlisle, the Lake District, Kielder Water and the Scottish Borders. Newcastle and the well known Metro Centre are within easy driving distance or you could let the train take the strain – the station being only 5 minutes walk away!
There are some wonderful local walks with details and local maps provided. Good fishing on River South Tyne - 2 minutes walk away!
